INFOGRAPHICS

Pieces of the Instructional Design Puzzle

Each ISDT course has enabled me to understand how the concepts contribute to the final picture. In the early stages of the program, I designed several items with the intention of repeated utilization; these infographics are often part of my instructional design process, and have been shared often within my personal learning network. Infographics are one of my favorite learning artifacts; the dual coding strategy is very effective in helping me retain content.

ID’s GUIDE TO CRITICAL THINKING

Here’s another example of Thinglink designed to discuss the research behind Critical Thinking.

The interactive graphic was created as a quick reference for instructional designers. These simple, visual graphics get to the heart of the topics quickly, reminding designers of key items to incorporate into their instruction, while the audio overlay goes deeper into the concept.

The OER Evaluation Model

A group project focused on open education resources lead us to create the “OER Model,” a framework on best practices of evaluating OER options within an organization. This graphic was used in conjunction with a PDF and audio file, designed to be part of an professional consulting pitch for OER assets.

Learning Theory Quickstart Guide

The Learning Theories Quickstart Guide is a resource I’ve utilized often since its creation. This resource was created to identify the major learning theories and theorists that drive education today, and helps instructional designers make informed decisions about the theories they choose to use.
